Acres of Diamonds 2026 Diamond Dinner: $900K Raised Toward a New Home for Local Families
A Night That Raised $900K — and Brought a New Campus Within Reach
💎 Community & Philanthropy
On September 26th, Acres of Diamonds held its 2026 Diamond Dinner at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue — and by the end of the night, the room had raised $900,000 for moms and kids experiencing homelessness. That number matters to me personally, and I wanted to make sure more people heard about it.
Closer Than Ever to a New Home
Acres of Diamonds is a Duvall-based nonprofit that has spent over a decade giving women and children escaping homelessness, trauma, and generational poverty a structured path to rebuild — on-site counseling, parenting support, life-skills training, and academic and emotional support for the kids. Since 2014, more than 100 children have begun healing from past trauma through this program. The organization has set a goal of $12.5 million to break ground on a new campus in Duvall — a facility built to serve more families than their current space allows. Heading into this year's Diamond Dinner, they had already raised over $10 million toward that goal. The gala itself raised $900,000 more, bringing them meaningfully closer to breaking ground.
Why This One Is Personal
Back in May, I had the privilege of representing Acres of Diamonds in the sale of one of their properties — a duplex at 260 SE Andrews Street in Old Town Issaquah, which closed at $1,600,000. That transaction put real resources behind a mission I've come to respect deeply: giving women and children escaping homelessness and trauma a genuine, structured path to rebuild their lives. Doing that work gave me something most people in real estate never get: a firsthand look at what this organization actually does for families, not just a description of it. There's a specific kind of credibility that comes from watching an organization follow through on its mission, transaction after transaction — and Acres of Diamonds has earned that credibility with me. I also want to recognize the people who made this year's Diamond Dinner the success it was: Jennifer Paddock, Joan Wallace, David Goodnight, and the entire board team put in the work that turned a single night into $900,000 toward a new home for families who need one.
